Why your Binance Futures wallet never matches the app profit figure, and how to close the gap

Guides · 2026-10-11

At the end of a month, many futures traders look at their wallet balance, then at the profit figure in the app, and notice the two do not line up. The gap usually comes from fees, funding payments, transfers in and out, and the difference between realised and unrealised profit. Binance records all of these, but in separate exports. Pulling them into one sheet once a month gives you a number you can trust and makes tax time or any audit far easier.

The exports you need

From Binance Futures, download the trade history, the transaction history, and the transfer records between your spot and futures wallets for the month. The transaction history contains entries such as realised profit, commission, and funding fee. Save the raw files unchanged in a dated folder before working on copies. The help centre explains how to generate each export and how long data is kept available for download.

Building the reconciliation

Start with the futures wallet balance on the first day of the month. Add transfers in, subtract transfers out. Add the sum of realised profit and loss entries. Subtract commissions and add or subtract funding fees, depending on whether you paid or received them. The result should match the balance at the end of the month, adjusted for any unrealised profit or loss on positions still open. If it does not, the difference points to a missing entry type.

What the numbers reveal

Once fees and funding are separated, you see your trading edge before costs and how much costs ate into it. Many traders discover that funding on positions held for days was a larger expense than commissions. Compare your commission totals with the rates on the Binance fee page for your tier to confirm nothing looks off. Track these figures month over month to see whether changes in style are paying off.

Storage and retention

Keep raw exports and your reconciliation sheet together for each month, ideally in two places such as an encrypted drive and a secure cloud folder. Name files consistently with the year and month first so they sort correctly. Tax authorities in many countries expect records to be kept for several years, so a tidy archive now saves real effort later.
